Behind the Scenes: How We Package the DeskPurrch Order

Every DeskPurrch is packaged with care, ensuring it arrives safely while minimizing environmental impact. We take pride in using eco-friendly materials, with each step of the process carefully designed to align with our sustainability goals. Let’s take a closer look at how your DeskPurrch is prepared for shipping.

Step 1: Inspecting the Components

Before packaging begins, we inspect every DeskPurrch component to ensure everything is up to our high standards. The wooden bowl, memory foam cushion, metal arms, and rods are all checked for quality. Once approved, they’re ready to be packed.

Of course, sometimes our product tester, Meowbert, decides to lend a paw, interrupting the process with his playful antics—batting at the screws or curling up in the box. His interruptions add a little extra fun to our packaging routine.

Step 2: Compact and Secure Packaging

The DeskPurrch is packed using compact corrugated packaging that provides both protection and efficiency. The corrugated design offers natural padding, reducing the need for extra materials while keeping the product safe. The box is a snug fit, ensuring minimal movement during transit. This compact yet secure design also reduces our overall environmental footprint.

We wrap each component in honeycomb paper wrap, an innovative and 100% curbside recyclable material that offers protection similar to traditional bubble wrap. This wrap uses less space and decreases the carbon footprint, all while ensuring your DeskPurrch arrives in perfect condition.

Step 3: Sealing with Eco-Friendly Materials

Once packed, the DeskPurrch is sealed using water-activated tape (WAT). This tape is made from natural kraft paper and starch-based adhesives, making it both biodegradable and recyclable. One of the best features of WAT is that it doesn’t need to be removed when recycling the box, which makes the process even more eco-friendly. After sealing the box, we stamp it individually to signify that it has been personally checked for quality.

Step 4: Keeping It Organized with Reusable Packaging

We store the smaller components—like screws and metal parts—in reusable kraft paper ziplock bags. These bags are durable and recyclable, and they can be repurposed for organizing small items around your workspace. The bags come with a transparent window for easy identification, making your assembly process even smoother.

Step 5: Thermal Stickers for Labeling

For labeling, we use thermal stickers, which are printed using a process that eliminates the need for traditional inks. This reduces the environmental impact and ensures our labels are easier to recycle. Unlike glossy stickers, which contain harmful chemicals, our labels are free from BPA and BPS, making them safer for the environment.

Step 6: Adding the Final Touches

We also include a free self-adhesive scratch mat with every DeskPurrch, a little extra treat for your feline friend. It’s durable, customizable, and perfect for protecting your furniture from curious claws. Once everything is packed, your DeskPurrch is ready for its journey to you. We even provide tracking details so you can follow its progress.
